Sweet Peppers Deli Gives Back

Just a little over three months after opening in Laurel, Mississippi, Sweet Peppers Deli has already made a big impact on the community!  The night prior to opening on June 16th, the restaurant held an invitation only event to benefit the Hamasa Shriner’s Transportation Fund.  This Saturday, September 27th at 2 pm, Ken and Brittany West, owners of the Sweet Peppers Deli in Laurel, plan to present a $2000 dollar check to Chris Nettles, the Hamasa Shriners' Potentate.  “My father (William West) has been a Shriner for a long time.  The work they do with children in our community is outstanding and we are glad to be able to give this money to help them transport local children and their families to the Shriner’s Hospital for care,” stated Ken West.     

Earlier this month, on September 6th, Sweet Peppers Deli hosted the first Pray it Forward event in Laurel.  This Saturday they welcome back The Dying To Live Ministry of Christ’s Church who will provide live entertainment from The Change Band and Mourning Hope.  This event will allow citizens to use their power of prayer to help turn the lives of current addicts away from drugs and alcohol. “When we first learned about this event we knew that Sweet Peppers Deli wanted to help Christ’s Church’” stated Brittany West.  “We felt this fit perfectly with our Christian values.  When we opened we made the decision to play Christian music in our restaurants on Wednesday nights and Sundays.  After the last Pray it Forward, several of our customers told us how much they enjoyed the event, so we are excited to have Christ’s Church return.”
The media and public are invited to join Sweet Peppers Deli this Saturday for their check presentation at 2pm as well as Pray it Forward with Christ’s Church at 6pm.
